Brushed/Matte Metallic Top Coat. Help!

I am trying to refinish a pair of metal antique bronze eyeglasses and the plug and plate kit works very well on the surface of the metal. The original frames have a matte finish look. What can I use to create a matte protective coating on the refinished area?
