Hi,
Please refer to the attached photo. Both knobs are from 1910 window hardware and were stripped with paint stripper. The result was a copper looking metal. Well, one knob fell out of the window and I found it w a metal detector a week later. In one week in the snow, it turned a silver color. I tried to clean it w steel wool, but it just polished to a shinny silver. Why did this happen and is there anything I can do ?(not replating) Thanks in advance. Ken |
