Trying to remove light scratches from chrome parts with no luck. I've got the chrome polishing kit, done the manual, tech support, however, no success. If anything I'm creating more swirl marks!
Parts are fairly new, some recently re-chrome but have light scratch/swirl marks which appear as a blue haze in certain light conditions. Can I and if so how can I bring out a beautiful mirror finish that resembles new chrome? ![]() |

dons733,
What is the base metal that you are trying to polish the chrome on? Is it automotive chrome strips? The "blue haze" that you see is probably from the heat of your buffing. If your buffing thin metal it will heat up pretty fast and burn. If you just had the metal re-plated then your plater should have left it in a "beautiful mirror finish". Before you try any mechanical means to polish the chrome try some Mothers Mag wheel polish or Simichrome! John |
