Someone had used a caustic solution of some kind, on our motorcycle engines.
The result is the anodizing was ruined and now the engine cases are corroded, I think. How does one get inside the deep crevices? Last edited by tmboracles; 07-06-2007 at 12:36 AM. |

yes caustic solutions will remove anodize ,it will also damage the aluminium , the extent of the damage depends on the strentgh of the solution and the time it was left on the part . you have diffrent ways of fixing it . you can polish the cases (yes they need either a protection or you will have to repolish them )
you can also glassbead them and have them powdercoated a solid color or polish them then powdercoat over the polishing with any candy top coat colors |
