Default Litigation (not requesting or offering legal advice)

We live in a very litigious society; businesses get sued often for manufacturing defects and other issues. Someone once sued an establishment because they tripped on landscaping gravel..go figure.

Has anyone here ever had a claim brought against them for work they've done on a automotive part or something similar? As far fetched as it seems I can just imagine this scenario:
-Consumer gets calipers powdered. Gets them home, installs them. A week later crashes, totals car. Consumer sues coater because powder somehow interfered with braking mechanism of the calipers.

Yes I know the scenario is ridiculous but so is suing because the freshly brewed coffee burnt your lap and the cup didn't have a warning label that it was hot.

Litigation is a threat to any business, which is why you need to protect yourself by forming a corporation, or LLC, and getting liability insurance.

Forming a corporate entity and having liability insurance are givens in the business world, at least as far as I'm concerned. I was more interested in just seeing if anyone had been face with somewhat of a ridiculous sounding lawsuit.

While you are at it, consider the Workers Compensation Claims. Make sure you have the correct insurance, and do background checks on potential employees to see if they have made previous fraudulent claims. A wrongful lawsuit could ruin your life.

Bin there - dun that.
