How To Remove Chrome Plating ffrom Aluminum - Plating Powder Coating Buffing Anodizing

Hello, I have a set of forged aluminum wheels that have old peeling chrome plating on them. does anyone have any suggestions on a method to remove the chrome? The people at Caswell suggested sand blasting. Has anyone used this method?

What are you going to do with the wheel after you have the chrome removed? If you are going to powder coat them, it may not be necessary to remove all the chrome! If you intend on polishing them then the chrome will have to be removed.

Sandblasting will take it off.

If you plan to anodize them afterwards, you will not want to sandblast them. You would need to find a company that does chrome stripping, or you can try caswells stripper.
