Plating non-metal items with electroless nickel

Does anyone know if it is possible to plate a non-metal item through the electroless nickel plating process by just using conductive paint? I'm trying to find a way around having to copper electroplate as that process won't plate the complex shape of these items. Any advice or suggestion of even another process to accomplish plating these would greatly be appreciated. My main concern is finding a process the will plate in all the difficult nooks, so what metal the pieces actually get plated with can be pretty much anything.

I was wondering the same thing. Having used silvaspray followed by the standard nickel kit; I was thinking maybe I could do better with copper spray, tinning solution, then electroless nickel. But, before buying all the stuff; has anybody tried it? I have not seen anywhere that said it could or couldn't be done that way. If an acid copper IS a requirement (before the electroless nickel); would a "thin" layer suffice. Since I am doing "tubes"; some parts in the center would probably be very thin without overplating the ends. I suspect that is what is happening with my standard nickel plate; but it is not particularly noticable. However, a uniform nickel plate would be the desired result.
