Well first of all not to many guys are using this type of controller so help is going to be at a minimum. I do have one and I wanted it and it screws with me from time to time trying to re set it to suit what I need to do.

1st do you have this along with the basic pid ins?
    Supplementary Instruction Manual
For the Ramp/Soak option of SYL-2XXXP series Programmable controller
All the info is there but you really have to have your brain working and then you might just get it.

Set step 1 at your degrees and then the min of run time. That is what you do for the steps for it to go to.

Now back to what you said that you want the oven to heat up as fast as it can? The controller just cuts the oven on and if step one is set for 400 then it will stay running till it gets to 400 and then click in and out maintaining it for the set min on the controller you have.

So first you need to get the oven to 400. How long does that take your oven? Second you want it to go for 20 min? I guess that is how long you want it to maintain the temp with your part in the oven? When are you putting your part in? At start or at temp? I put most of my stuff in at start(cold) If doing thin light weight stuff this is the best way. Now on the 20 min at temp I don't understand unless you are doing the same type parts over and over and you already know what time it takes them to fully cure. 20 min can under cure and can over cure some parts and some parts could take a few hrs to cure.

The unit you have is made to set up for dif temps for each step. That is the ramp soak part of it. Step 1 could be 150 for 10 min and step 2 250 for 10 min. Some parts do better set this way and some parts could care less. My oven starts out slow and keeps stepping up till it hits the temp I want and the I have that step set to run at 240 min ( 4hrs ) That will cover 99% of what I might coat. I also have the temp probe and a clamp on probe and have an alarm set at 400. When my oven hits 400 the alarm goes off and then I hit the toggle switch to the clamp probe and walk away. When the part hits 400 the alarm goes off again and then I set a portable timer and walk away till it goes off and then the part is done.

Now if all else fails and you can't get it together and I have been there myself then give Auber a call and they can help you get there. They are back on with phone support as of today and they are great people.

One more note that most guys don't have wired into the controller is a switch to cut off the contactor so that means that while you are trying to do something with your PID your oven is also trying to come on.

Good Luck. The one you have is a trip for sure to set up!

Well just get one step at a time done or learn how and then it want be that hard if you are lucky. If you are going to call and they have time to help you I would say have your headset on and be at the pId so they can get you started off you hope? For you do even think about doing what you want you would have to set up lets say step 1 and 2 for one thing and then say 3 and 4 for another and so forth down the line. Then have you a note posted on what you did and then when you want to do something then you will have to make you PID start in that step. The only problem it that it will keep stepping so it will go to the next set up and start over. You will have to be real good to do what you want and I will say good luck to you and hope you write down a lot of notes and have a good memory. The PID like that are for controlling say a store for 24 hrs a day like the cooling and heating and when to start and stop and that is continuous and not what we need for sure for it to do so we just have to fig it out to suit us.
