Well I have had this built for almost 6 moths and she is working well. Thanks to Ed's wiring diagrams for making this possible, this fridge conversion turned out well...

Nice work Steve, The oven turned out looking very nice. The grate on the oven bottom is a nice addition as is the blower motor speed control. Is that a rheostat? Also what's the device on top the control box?
If you have more pictures of the build you should post them. A lot of people ask about how to do fridge/cabinet conversions and yours would be a great guide for anyone wishing to do something similar.

You are correct, I did add a rheostat to the fan. The goofy thing on the control box was a kitchen egg timer I used as a simple back up timer I had handy until I upgraded. That should have made the pictureThis wasn't a cheap build and cost me around $800. The sheet metal and fan was half the cost. I am good at finding deals but didn't have all the time to find things so had to splurge a few times. If I did this again I think I would build from scratch and not even use a fridge. I thought it would save money. I am sure it did, but not much. You get restricted to dimensions and would have liked to have worked in more of a rolling rack system as trying to get a Harley frame in without bumping by had was extreme challenge. Took many dry run practices before perfection. It does work and so far so good. I ran a burn off to clean it out for 3 hours before she stopped smoking for my first run. My record temp was 625 and climbing but hut it down after that. didn't want to melt my electrical. It was fun build though!
That looks great! Very perfessional looking control box too. Sans the egg timer. You done good!
Ken
Thanks... I could have not done it without all the great info that everyone has shared here.
very nice work! looks great!
yeah, ed's the man. he's primarily responsible for our oven getting done, too! thanks ed!
Thanks for the kind words, but I've learned a lot from the people here also, so it's definitely a group effort.
Well oven has been working great for months. Then today, plugged it in, pid and lights on panels light up and then a few seconds later, nothing. So of course I checked to make sure that I was getting juice. The panel main power indicator light comes one, but nothing else. No blower, timer, or PID. The Buzzer does work, but that's because it is running of the 12v transformer which is getting power. Did I just blow a relay? I am wondering if I can test the relay or figure out which one might be bad? The big square SSR Relay or the 8 Pin Relay? Anyways, any help is appreciated. Maybe I need to add a fuse to this thing so I don't do this again? Thanks and hope all is well....
