$60 a sheet for the galvanized sounds a little high to me. Have you checked all the local sources. I was recently quoted $30 for 24 gauge gal.
The obvious problem with hot or cold rolled steel is that it will eventually rust.
Hello all, I am getting back in to powder coating and a in the design part of my oven. I called around to find prices on sheet metal. I need 6 sheets and can buy 4x10x22ga galvanized for $360 or cold roll 24ga for $194. Just wanted to see the thoughts of which way to go from the oven buliders out there. Thanks

That is the cheapest around a 50 miles radius. Have prices from $60 to $85 a sheet. That why I am thinking rolled steel
I paid $37.00 a sheet for 20guage galvenized and $18.00 a sheet for 26 gauge galvenized
Wow, that's the prices I am looking for. To bad I don't live in your area... I think that I am going with the galvanized seeing that I live near a beach. Just need cash now...Thanks folks
go with galvanized ... the rust will kick your butt if you use cold rolled

.
i paid 39$ per sheet for 48"x 74" sheets of 22 galvanized
the one thing i dont understand is.... they say galvanized is only good to 450-500 degrees. So technically it will flake off and rust anyways? is it really worth the investment?
i did it anyway but i wonder
go to metalsupermarkets and see if they have any in your area. Good prices and you get 10% off your first order of 100$
