I don't see why not. I'm not sure what gauge studs I purchased from HD, but they work fine. If you need extra rigidity just double some up or decrease the spacing.
Hi im new and was wondering if someone can help me out. I have 25 gauge studs 3 5/8 and was wondering if i could use those for an oven build dimensions for oven will be 6ft high 6ft deep and 4ft wide with 18 0r 20 gauge sheet metal. thanks in advance

There are different ways of doing this, but I used self drilling sheet metal screws where ever the screw head wouldn't be covered by sheet. In areas where the screw heads would be a problem(sticking up too high) I used rivets.
I completely pop riveted my oven together (no screws)
thanks big jay for the info. so size of oven doesnt have an effect on using self tapping screws or not also i was thinking of using 18 or 20 gauge sheet metal but if i can go lighter without worrying about structure i will i dont want to go to lite but wondering what gauge would be good for the size
does anyone have a detailed schematic on wiring an oven im not sure how many elements to use and how they go on the conatactor ssr pid and what not. any and all help is appreciated thanks
