Default finishing help for my oven

hello, i'm slowly getting to the final parts of my oven but need a little extra help on where to place things. first is the blower to circulate the air.

in this picture you can see a horizontal peice i put in on the back wall..i was thinking that is where i'm going to mount my motor (it's a oil cooled 3 speed motor from a propane pizza oven for curculating air in those ovens) i have a couple regular 5 blade fans and 2 squirll cage fans (no houseings) i'm wondering if the regular 5 blade fan would work if it was mounted on the inside and set up so it would pull the air rather then push. also i'm wondering if i need a vent in the oven or seal it up air tight (or as air tight as possible)

then my final question for now is i'm putting 3 -2500 watt elements on the bottom mounted on the walls. i've read about people putting heat sheilds over them. just wondering if someone could post some pics or something to i could see what's been done for that. thanks in advance

I'm building mine now, but I can't help with the blower as I am not going to be using one. I feel with a 3x3x6 area I do not need one. I am making mine as air tight as I can get it and will be installing a 1/2" pipe U mounted upside-down to act as a pressure relief. I am guessing that pulling the air up to the top and then having it slide down the sides would work but I'm sure someone with more Experience will correct me

The whole idea to a fan, is to keep the hot spots to a minimum. It will make the temps in your oven more even from top to bottom. The vent pipe is also a good idea, as it will help to breath ( for the lack of a better word) and get the smoke out of the oven, so it don't settle on what you are curing. Black is bad for making smoke. You may want to reconsider.

"tricountykustomz" As for the placement of your fan, mine has an intake at the top which is run down the back of the oven a short distance and back into the oven, with a rectangular tube running down the back wall toward the floor. This keeps the air flowing for even heating and not disturb the powder.

alright, thanks for the info. i'm thinking of putting a small opening at the base around where the elements would be (small being 1" max) and two 1/2-3/4" openings in the top corners of the oven with a slide plate to be able to open and close them if i want. and then just have the fan on the back wall pulling air towards the wall (so i don't blow the powder everywhere) that way the air will be pulled from the middle of the oven to the back wall and around the outside of the oven.
