Oven problem !!!!!

Recently my oven wont come up to heat. I am running a single phase 220 76.0 amp 8x4x6, it requires at least 206 volts to operate correctly, I installed a transformer to stabilize and hold the voltage coming in, I had a bad voltage drop at first which was around 195vac which is what I am getting again, so I sure I will need to replace the transformer, but do they sell one that will step up the voltage so I have faster heat up.

heat up speed depends on the element placement as well as the amount of space needed to be heated. if you have an oven that normally heats up in lets say 20 minutes, and you can possible rearrange the elements it might heat faster. as for the transformer it should not have much to do with it unless you are still haveing brown out(low voltage problems) also when you replace the transformer, if possible measure both voltage drop and amp draw when first switched on. my oven runs at about 18-20 amps, but startup is 32 amps so you may also have a amp draw problem and need to resize the wire. just my thoughts bro so i hope this helps.

What concerns me is why do you only have 195 coming into your panel? I would contact your electric company and have them check your service. If your running more voltage then your service can provide then you stand a chance of melting your wiring. When I bought my house a few years back my home was only set up for 100AMP at the meter, since then I have had them raise my service to 360Volts they install new under ground wire to my meter base and I installed a 360 base to go along with it. Since then I can now weld in the shop with out my wife seeing the surge in the home..
Most if not all major appalances( sp?) need a min of 208 to run. Below that you will kill a drier , stove etc..

Jim, I've never heard of 360 volt service, Is there a 360 service available? Is it single phase?

Its really a 380 service and yes single phase. The next service up from that is 480 but that is 3 Phase.
Talk with your eletric company about it.. I never heard of it until I talked with mine..
