Default Electric Heating Elements

How well do you think these elements would work? You can get them 2500w to 6000w. The 5000w will run a person around $40 shipped.

The literature says it's for duct heaters which means they need a fair amount of air moved across them or they'll go up in smoke.
IMHO

Couldn't say for sure but usually duct heaters burn up fairly quickly without ample airflow.
You could always contact the manufacturer and see what they have to say.

Yep, sure looks like it but it's hard to tell.. I'd either call the manufacturer and find out or just buy one and give it a whirl. They might be fine..

Tri-J, I just built a 4'x4'x6' oven and used the coil type elemnts. I have used the oven a couple of times and found they work but you do need air flow over them or they will have a short life. I have since found a new element to use which is the cow rod type, sort of like the one in your household oven. They are 5600 watts which is 19208 btu's. They are commercial elements and cos around $50.00 a piece.

The new elements (3) heat my oven to 400 deg. in about 25 mins. and do not require the fan that I put in. I am not at the sop right now but will get the manufacturer and part # for you later. Hope this info helps. I know I had a heck of a time finding info like this.

How much airflow I planning a 4 X 8 X 4 oven with a squirrel cage circulation fan (not fresh ail), how many CFM will I be needed with the coil style element?
The elements will be mounted in the exhaust side of the ail flow.

I used a 215 cfm blower from Dayton ind. If you have access to a Grainger cat. they have them in there. I got the high temp blower motor which cost me $118 delivered.
