Default fan circulation question

i am starting my oven build tomorrow and have one general question. when installing a fan.....

is there any position that works better than another?

are we just trying to move the air around a little bit? i am hearing some really big CFM numbers and am wondering what is the best way to go about the install. i was thinking of building a simple duct to take air from the bottom and transfer it to the top or visa-versa, is this all that is needed or do i need to be accomplishing more? thanks for your help guys, i will be posting what i come up with.

As for CFM, I am not 100% sure of the numbers, but I do know that you want to take the hot air from the top, and duct it to the bottom. The oven will be hotter at the top, heat rises, so if you put your elements low and circulate top-bottom, it should be exccelent.

All we can make are general statements to your questions as you did not tell us the dimensions or element placement/size!

Oh and is it a side door or a top door? I wouldn't bother with a fan on a smaller top loader oven.

the size is 8X6X4 foot, inside dimentions. working on the framing now, element placement is still in consideration, i am leaning towards putting them on the side walls near the bottom and half way up. i am building an insulated divider so i can split the oven in half when the whole thing is not needed.
