Insulation mistake ???

I have been building a new oven 2x3x6. I have used metal studs with 22. gauge steel sheets to cover it. but I might have made a mistake using R20 Insulation (6") is this Insulation to big to fit in-between the oven walls? should I drill all the rivets off and re-insulation with the proper size? Please help i would like to start coating soon

Probably. Packing it to tight reduces the insulating factor. I would go and get insulation that is 3 5/8" thick. Will fit nice between the inner and outer walls. You can use what you have by tearing it and stuffing it into the panels. Pack it loosely but full, untill you get a thickness of about the stud depth. Compressing it a little won't hurt. Good luck.

Whoops, I didn't see you had it done. Try it see how it works. Test random spots with the infra red thermometer.

Thanks for the reply. The side walls have already been finished with 6" insulation, but I am going to insulation the top and door with the proper size insulation. I just hope the side walls are not going to be a problem
