Default Making an oven and ive got a few questions

Hello all, I was on this forum about a year ago and some things came up, and I wasnt able to build my oven. Ive got a few questions, do you have to do anything special to spray aluminum? Also im looking to make my own oven ive got a few questions, what kind of heating elements and how many would I need a link would be great. Also Ill need a thermostat to regulate the temp, could I get a link to a good one that would be a good partner for the heating element. Any good links to some walkthroughs would be great, like a list of parts and where I can get them, thanks.

Mcmaster-Carr should have almost everything you need if you can't find it at one of the previous links. What do you mean by "Spraying aluminum"?

Thanks for the links, exactly what I was looking for, the time is appreciated. Iv I where to use four of these in my oven would I also be able to get away with the one mcmaster has that is rated for 30A without the use of a contactor? Thanks for the time.

I doubt it. Safer to use a contactor. It isolates the thermostat from the elements. Easy to hook up. The thermostat actuates the coil that opens and closes the contacts to the elements. That way your not pulling all that amperage throug the thermostat. Good luckl.

I built a nice 4x4x6 foot oven with all the bells and wistles for about $1600. I used 18 ga. aluminized aluminum for the interior, 4" slag wool insulation, 20 ga. cold rolled for the outside. I have a sight window from a local appliance parts supply house. He got me three 5600 watt industrial oven elements @45.00 each which are twice the diameter of a household one which he told me I should get many years service from. I got my contactor which is a 70 amp three pole with a 120 coil of ebay for 15.99 new in the box. I also found a great digital temp controller on ebay for around 30.00 each and the same guy had thermocouplers for around 10.00. The appliance guy found me a walk in cooler door latch for 32.00 which makes it a breeze to get into mey oven when my hands are full. All these parts are readily available and if you want I can get you some brand names and part numbers. Hope all this helps!!!

Thanks for the info, do you know if you could put a complete motorcycle engine inside the oven? Or would I have to disasseble it?

Disassemble it. Seals and gaskets won't take the heat.
