Default 7'x6'x5' outdoor oven build.

Well, tonight, after work I get the steel and pads for the floor of my oven. I don't have room in my shed for a large one, so I'm building it outside my shed. Going to be 7Lx5Wx6H inside 10" thick walls. I was figuring, with the 10" walls, and 18Ga inside wall thickness, I should be able to plywood the outside, instead of sheetmetal, what you all think? Would sure save some $$$$
I will keep updated with build pics.

Here's a pic of the foundation going in. Hopefully by the weekend I'll have the steel all welded up and ready for the floor.

In this one, it's hard to see, but you can see a faint pen line on the wall. That pen line will be the door uoening. The walls are another 10" outside that line.

Banditperformance,

You asked for it!
I would have put a vapor barrier under the steel floor framing also some insulation. How long do you think that steel floor is going to last without some kind of protection on it? Did you use 4" or 6" metal studs? Is you roof going to have any pitch to it? If not over time you are going to have a leaking and freezing problem with water and such laying up there. If your going to run electric in there, I see that the holes in the studs don't match, and yew you do put a gasket in those holes before you pull your wire!
Plywood walls; I'd use t111, and make sure you seal it and paint it so it will last. Interior walls; I'd try the "handi backer" board, it comes in 3' X 5' sheets and can be purchased at Lowe's, good for up to 1200 degrees! That will save you a little money.
Don't mean this as criticism, just a BTDT suggestions.

John

LOL, way ahead of you Jrow. There's vapour barrier on the ground, then the insulation. One would think palstic barrier would melt if it was between the ins. and the floor I am running elec, but not inside the studs, it will be in conduit in between the walls. So if any problems or upgrades, the wires can be puled out That's only the outside walls. There 2x4 steel studs. the inside and outside walls are 11" apart, for excelent insulation So, that 4" or so space in between the studs, is where I will run my conduit ofr hte heaters and the fan ductiong. There ls a little slope on the roof, 2" to the back. It will be metal roofing for roof and outside walld, Hardi on the inside. 14KW of heat approx. Oh, and the edges under the roof overhang, will have vents there for venting any mousture built up in the insulation. Soffit's I belive there called?

Couple of updated pics.

The extrior, all sided. You can see the motor for teh circulation fan. The motor is mounted outside the siding, but the fan housing is inside, all insulated up to minimixe heat loss to the outside, because after all, this is a outside oven and temps here get to -20 Celcius quite alot in winter. It's -7C now.

The interior structure. You can see the fan ducting. The 6" duct will be sucking from the center top of the oven, and the 4" outlet will be split in 2, one at opposite corners of the oven blowing accross. The idea is to get a gentile swirle action with the air, hopefully to alleviate any hot/cold spots.
