nope, but this was stored indoors and seemed pretty dry. I should be able to fire mine up for a test run tonight.

I fired it up for a test burn, all went well and 911 was not dialed at all

Hello Everyone. I just stumbled across this forum as I did a material search for my new over build. There is a lot of good info here. Anyway, I do have some experience with Hardiboard. I can say that it does burn, but not very easily. After my garage project was done last winter, I was burning a pile of tree clippings, and I figured that I would try to burn the scrap Hardiboard panels. Guess what, they DO burn! They were the last bit of "wood" on the pile to burn, but after lying on the hot coals for a few hours, they eventually burned into ash. Some pieces didn't burn completely, and just turned into hard "tile" like material, but most of it burned. I'm not sure of the temperature of the fire/coals, but keep in mind that if you get the Hardiboard hot enough, it WILL eventually burn. I would definitely have a sheet metal barrier between the Hardiboard and the direct heat. Just my 2 cents.

Also, for anyone new to Hardiboard, make sure that you buy a saw blade that is made for cutting these panels, as it will burn up a standard saw blade like nothing else (I found this out the hard way). Plus, the concrete board blades will cut the Hardipanels with about half the effort. Also, be sure to wear a mask of some sort to keep from inhaling the released dust.
