Lookin good Krusty. Wonder who will have there's hot first, Me or you LOL. I'm waiting on the metal shop for the door jamb metal flange pieces. And my elements havn't arrived from ebay yet

I think you might win this one bandit. The relay(contactor) I ordered from eBay still hasn't arrived, I had to file a claim. I'm trying to get the 388 stroker motor and TH350 tranny built and installed in my buddy's Monte Carlo to make some room in my shop. I was talking to an appliance repair guy, and I might try going with 3 smaller 20 amp relays instead of 1 big 50 amp. Might be a little cheaper, parts are available locally, and it should be easier to service if it goes down for any reason. I don't know, just a thought.

Ya, I'd go the smaller relays. How many elements you running? 3? I have 2 elements per contactor right now, 3 contactors, 6 elements' I have a selector switch to turn the elements on in pairs 2, 4, 6. So, use 6 to heat the oven, then for cure, I can turn down to 2 in summer, 4 in winter to help ease the power fluctualtions. My present 7500W oven dims the lights in the house, this 16000W one will do a little more LOL. PLus, I am estamating my power requirememnt's at 12000W, but have 16000. And the oven walls are 10" thick, not 4 like most. SO in reality, it might take alot less power to keep hot than I think(hopefully)

My elements came yesterday, so next week I can get heat in it. No door yet, but she'll have heat

Sorry it's been a while. I had an emergency room visit last week from all the pain meds the doc had...HAD...me on, and I'm Finlay feeling normal, anyways...I ended up going with 3 separate relays

I almost have my control panel finished, and when I can get this Monte Carlo out of my way, I can finish the outer sheet metal skin. More updates later
