I think you might win this one bandit. The relay(contactor) I ordered from eBay still hasn't arrived, I had to file a claim. I'm trying to get the 388 stroker motor and TH350 tranny built and installed in my buddy's Monte Carlo to make some room in my shop. I was talking to an appliance repair guy, and I might try going with 3 smaller 20 amp relays instead of 1 big 50 amp. Might be a little cheaper, parts are available locally, and it should be easier to service if it goes down for any reason. I don't know, just a thought.

Ya, I'd go the smaller relays. How many elements you running? 3? I have 2 elements per contactor right now, 3 contactors, 6 elements' I have a selector switch to turn the elements on in pairs 2, 4, 6. So, use 6 to heat the oven, then for cure, I can turn down to 2 in summer, 4 in winter to help ease the power fluctualtions. My present 7500W oven dims the lights in the house, this 16000W one will do a little more LOL. PLus, I am estamating my power requirememnt's at 12000W, but have 16000. And the oven walls are 10" thick, not 4 like most. SO in reality, it might take alot less power to keep hot than I think(hopefully)

My elements came yesterday, so next week I can get heat in it. No door yet, but she'll have heat

Sorry it's been a while. I had an emergency room visit last week from all the pain meds the doc had...HAD...me on, and I'm Finlay feeling normal, anyways...I ended up going with 3 separate relays

I almost have my control panel finished, and when I can get this Monte Carlo out of my way, I can finish the outer sheet metal skin. More updates later

A lot better than the $55 ea the local appliance folks wanted. I'm all about buying local to help each other out, but damn.
