    Default 4 x 4 x 6 Oven Pics

Here's some progress pics of the oven I'm building. The interior dimensions are 4x4x6. Constructed from 3 5/8 drywall studs. I have the top, bottom, and side frames built. Tomorrow I'll finish the back and door. Then I get the fun task of sheeting the thing.
I'm posting progress pics as I go. I'm also drawing up some bluprints, and an excell spreadsheet of total cost, part number, supplier/manufacturer...etc and I'll try to find somebody that's better with computers than I am to show me how to set up a web page.

I finished the back frame and mocked everything up today. The rivets are killing me on dimensions. I guess I should have added a 1/16th or so to compensate. Oh well, I can shift things and make it work. I'm going to wait on the door untill the oven is completely sheeted and built, then I'll just build the door to fit. Maybe I'll have it covered, at least the inside by this weekend. Anybody have any ideas as far as; Should I sheet each individual section(inside portion) by leaving overhang material to wrap around the ends, then assemble everything? or Should I assemble everything and cut and fit the interior portion sheet metal with no wrap around and just seal the seams and corners?

    Any help?

    Question Re: 4 x 4 x 6 Oven Pics

Does anybody have some pics or tips of how they sheeted their oven? I'm just trying to determine the best pattern/layout to save as much money as possible on the sheet metal. The price of steel has gotten better since gas started to go down, but ouch it's still up there.

I ordered my heating elements today
    4 ea 3100 watt 240 volt total w/shipping$63.90

A lot better than the $55 ea the local appliance folks wanted. I'm all about buying local to help each other out, but damn.

OK after many calculations and much thought, until the Realtor finds me a location for my business, I'm going to have to limit this oven to 4x4x4. I only have 240v/100a single phase service at the house, and by my calculations with 4 3100w elements, plus lights, fan, and controller, I would need around a 60 - 80 amp breaker, and my last open slot, and really be pushing the limits of my home's electrical threshold. I'm still going to build the bigger oven. It just won't be in operation until I find my shop. I'm still going to post the pics and progress tho, so stay tuned....

Oh yeah I don't know about your area, but one of my metal distributors quoted me:
    18g galvanized 4x8 $56.10 per sheet
    20g galvanized 4x8 $43.10 per sheet
Not too bad, but still puts a dent in the pocket book. Laters
