Default Oil Drum Oven?

Has anyone ever made an oven out of an old oil drum/barrel? One like this:

Sure would simplify building one from scratch.

NitroRustlerDriver,

I guess you could say "anythings possible". Just what are your thoughts on building this oven? I would say trying to find small electric heating elements would be one of your problems. Insulation would not be much of a problem, other that the door. Getting inside to weld a rack in won't be much fun. Getting a used electric oven, from whatever source, would be plug-n-play. I don't see from my perspective that there is much choice. Time wise and cost wise your better off buying a used oven. Run some prices on what parts you need, then look at the price of a used oven. It may surprise you!

id say the drum size vs. home oven size is not that much better.

but something BIG, metal and cheap would be great.

the fridge ideas seem to work, but the whole enclosure and door setup seem to flimsy to me to work well over time. im no expert though.
