Default Wattage question

According to the sticky thread at the top of the page, the oven I intend to build will need 8500 watts. ( 4x4x8 )

I have 4 free-be ovens that I intend to use on the project, how do I check the wattage per oven?

How do I know what my existing ovens are rated at?

There doesn't seem to be any information on the out side of the units indicating what there output is. I simply want to know where I might look for this info.

There should be a wiring diagram on the back panel of each oven that will tell you the elements wattage

Thanks, I'll have to pull the panels off the backs to see what I can find.

I would assume he did, because he gave you a link to Ohms Law, the most basic electrical formula, and used fro calculating wattage.

measure the resistance of the element. Now take the voltage it is run at. Usually 240, devide by the resistance(ohms) that will give you the Amps that the element will draw. Now, multiply those amps by the voltage, = Watts

Take the model no.off the stoves and go to a stove repair place. ...They should have a book on them with element size..........

mtumbleson,

Yes I "actually read" what you posted. As "The Bandit" said use the formulas. If you do find and information on the oven nomenclature plate it might be the total oven wattage and not the individual element wattage! People are only trying to help you don't be so caustic!
