Default mcmaster car heat strips

hi.. im wanting to build a oven.. 3ft x3ft x 6ft tall.. im a sheetmetal worker by trade so i can get any size and ga. metal from galv. to blk iron.. building a insulater box of this size would be very easy for me but my problem is wireing this box up with the elements.. im no electrian by no means but im willing to learn.. i was looking through a mcmaster car book today and seen some heat strips. my ? is, could i use the heat strips like the ones ive seen or would i be better off to tear a used kitchen stove apart and wire it up using every thing from the stove.. i could duplicate the wireing the same as in a kitchen stove if i watch what im doing ,i guess..lol... could this be done or are there more to this than im thinking... could i just build the size oven i want, completly in closed, door and all ready to go minus the heating elements then just come back here with pics of it then start cuting and drilling holes to put all heating, wireing and such with the help from you guys here on the forum..thanks for your help and time...

If it's the strips that I am thinking of, they will work better than oven elements, but also cost alot more. I was going to use the finned strips in mine, but need 16,000W. Was a pretty expensive bill.

iwannapowdercoat2,

K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid. No insult meant. Yes you can use the electrical components from an existing oven BUT they must be the proper wattage for the box that you want to build. Thats not likely as your box is approximately two and one half time bigger than a house oven!
There is plenty of information, and formulas on the site that you should read to get a better understanding what you will be up against.
Let us know what your questions are after you read the posts on this forum.
