Glad you put that info out. It's almost time for mine. I was wondering why you picked the one you did as opposed to the higher wattage element?
Thanks, JT
just thought i'd pass this along. I bought 3 of the 2500W elements (@ $7.99 each) which measure 23 ohms--which would pull 10.4 amps each. I'm building a 7500W oven that is 96 cu. ft. so this set-up should work nicely.

7500w will suffice for the cubic footage. if it proves to lack in "heat up" time or doesn't reach temp. i'll add another element or swap 'em with a higher wattage element.
I got two 5,000 watt elements for 8.90 each. Check A/c - heat supply places and ask for strip heater element kits. any wattage, comes with the ceramic donuts too.Originally Posted by JTW37
hey nutty, i can't seem to find the elements on the link you listed.
i have 2 old oven elements now, but wanted 2 more, and by the time i find another junk oven or get parts from a junkyard (which i would probably still have to pay something for) i could just buy 4 matching ones.
thanks
Dave
the site lay-out has changed since I last visited that site & the link has apparently as well. I can't find them either! just shop around though-I founs many for that price when I bought them.
Not only have they changed the lay out, but they really changed. Do a search on Hot Coat. Weird. No elements come up anymore either.![]()
Who says you can't teach an ole dog new tricks?
I got two 3kw elements from:
MCCOMBS SUPPLY CO
PO BOX 4577
LANCASTER, PA 17604-4577
They sell on Ebay as "supplystuf"
$8.95 each. With shipping, it came to $29.70.
It saved me a trip to the big city and that alone is worth the shipping.
I bought from him awhile back, he has some good prices.Originally Posted by CarWiz
