Default barrier wrap

has anyone used house barrier wrap for insulation? I dont know what the temp rating, but they say its class 1 and class a fire rated and it hold 90% of heat in. I would think it would at least with stand 400 degs

I don't think either one of these will have any significant insulation value.

neither one will have any value to an oven. dont waste your money. go to your local lumber yard and order mineral wool, its cheap and IS an insulation.

If like me, no one in your area even has a clue what your talking about, go to www.mcmastercarr.com and in the "FIND" box enter 3390. That is the page of their catalog that has the Mineral Wool. I got the 2 inch Plain ($10.67 per 24"x48" sheet) for my 3x3x6 oven.

I tested the wrap today. I was able to get the temp up to 490* and the back side was only 75* when I removed it from the heater I was able to touch it with my bare hands. So it can handle the heat no problem so next week im going to make a small 2x2x4 oven with 3000 watts and go from there
