Thread: Solid State Relays

  1. Solid State Relays

This form is great and has given me lots of great information. My question is do you use two solid state relays (one for each leg of the elements). All the ssr's I have seen look like single through.

You only need to switch one leg of the elements 2 hot lines to make it turn off and on. But if you switch it this way make sure that your main on/off switch is a douple pole switch that shuts off both pwer legs to the rest of the circuit. So that when it is turned off, there is not 120Volts sitting at one leg of the elements.
