I just ordered 3 from the guy on ebay.

http://i4.ebayimg.com/04/i/05/d3/53/d8_2.JPG

They are about 8 inches long, so they should be large enough to do the job.

Checked out McMastrer-Carr and they also have the "Draw Pull Latches". The one with the rod on it. I copied the prices to paste here. It includes the shaft sizes and a bunch of other stuff. Only thing is the shipping. The rod size is after the dashes.

The only problem with their latches is the price...

Yep, I didn't care for their (Mcmaster) prices either. Can't find anyone in this area that has any decent type of latches. Nowhere near what is posted here. Also thought about doing a latch kind of like the door latch they use on a Semi trailer door. One handle, two latches (top & Bottom), May consider that a little more.

National Hardware -- Part Number 1264

Thats the part number to the picture I posted above.

I can ship these out to you guys if needed, they retail here for $13.69.
Ground shipping on these would be very minimal probably $5-7 with my discount.
PM Me if you want me to send you any.

I also found a place online to buy them.

Just got my latches off ebay, it looks like a suitable way to go. They are heavy duty and are about 8" long. Shipped they were $8.60 each.

The shipping was fast too...

I looked at those awfully hard. But my problem is, that I have two doors. So I need two in the center, at the top and the bottom. It would work for the top, but the bottom is questionable, as it would hang down. So, I picked up a couple at the hardware store that might do the job. The ones I was thinking of making would have the same problem (hanging down on the floor). This wouldn't matter, except that I have it on wheels to move it around when required, so creates a problem. Anyway, will post when I get it working. Luck on yours.

for the two door idea, look at a big rig trailer, can you copy something like that to use? you would have to fab the stuff, but if you have the capabilities it would work the best.
