Default Spray Booth questions - many

Okay I have my oven built. In previous posts I stated that it was 3x3x6 ft. My spray booth is the same measurements, except it's 6'4'' high. I want my trays to fit into everything width wise. I have everything (frame) tacked together and the sheet metal cut to size. What I am wanting to know is about venting the powder out of the booth. But I want to be able to reclaim what falls.

My idea is to get a squirrel cage type fan to pull out the dust and have it deposited into a reclaim container of some sort. Also plan on being able to use the same fan to hook a hose to and vacuum up what the fan don't pull into the container. By using a squirrel cage fan with the motor isolated, so there is no explosion hazard.

Does all this sound doable or does someone have a better idea. If so, Please share it.
Thanks, JT

JT,
"Most" squirrel cage fans do a pretty good job of pushing air but not very well at pulling. The application you're talking would require a special fan that could handle the static pressure. Not saying it can't be done but... that's a tall task and would be pretty expensive. Not to mention every time you powder the whole system would have to be spotless or you'll cross contaminate what little you manage to capture.
IMO

also depending on how big the squirrel cage is you may be moving more air than you want. I don't get to worried about reclaiming and using the powder again. You should be worried about a top quality finish and if your customer appreciates the professional finish you put on the item then he will be more than happy to pay you for your efforts and your name will be passed on. If you reuse the powder to save a buck and the finish has flaws your customer will not be happy. Don't let a buck stand in your way with perfection. Every job you do is an advertisment and your NAME is on it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
