Default Hows the new 50 kv gun

Hi all,was thinking about getting the new caswell 50 KV gun but not sure if i need it.I'm doing mostly bicycle frames and other small stuff.Once in a while i run into the case where the powder does not stick good enough and it seems like it could use more power.Does the extra power help overall with small parts or should i stick with my 16 KV caswell gun? Thanks

I ordered one a few weeks ago after my cheapy gun started acting up. My initial thought was that the higher power would be a plus for getting powder into nooks and crannies but after reading comments in other forums here I learned the opposite was true, among other problems, and regretted ordering. Then after receiving the unit I was sadly unimpressed with the quality. Same cheap gun as I've seen on ebay and other discount tool places but attached to a different control box.

It may be the cat's meow for low cost PC but I returned mine unused for a refund.

With that said - kudo's to the Caswell folks for their other products and offering these forums. And there was no BS when I wanted to return.

It may look the same and all that. But what would have happened if you tried to return it on Ebay. Besides, the support here is as good as the rest of Caswell stuff. It took me a few times to get the hang of the Caswell, as I also have an EW Hobby gun and have had that one for sometime. I like having the higher voltage, but like them both. If the powder isn't sticking, could it be a bad ground or something along those lines?

Thats kinda what i thought about the extra power.Seems its best suited for large flat areas.Had to drill out the air tube to get good enough adgitation for decent spray.Didn't really think i should have to do this but it works well now.Intermittant ground may be my poor powder adhesion problem. Will pursue that suggestion. Thanks
