Nope. 1500w is about max for a 110v circuit. You might get to 1800w but you'd have to check the supply circuit you'd be using. You can't run two 1500w elements in parallel because that would be 3000w. If you didn't pop a breaker, you'd burn your garage down. If you try and run them in series, it's about 700w.

I'm too old and tired to do all the searches for you. There's probably hundreds of pictures of ovens here and quite a number of electrical diagrams. A ready made oven runs $1500-$5000 (and up) so your best bet is to build it yourself. And give more thought to using 230v. It may be more cost effective for you to have someone else do your powder coating.

Sure you could run three phase into an oven, but I'm not sure I see the advantage. Elements are only going to need 2 line feeds, not three. I guess if you are running multiple elements you could take the three phase and divide it into various phase to phase combinations. Has anyone done this?

Only disadvantage is that most homes and garages do not have access to 3 phase.

Ok, Thanks for the help. I am not commited to 3ph power, I just have it and all my other equip. is 3ph. Elements only need 2 wires, makes perfect sense,, single phase 230v it is.

Now,....my oven is modular, so I can increase length for longer parts when needed. Is there a point where you "Max Out" on your wattage and it becomes more effecient to use natural gas? Also, I read in someone's post that they used a Dayton high temp fan (from McMaster Carr) to circulate the air in the oven. I have spent hours looking for one in the catalogue, and searched under lots of names, still don't see it. Any idea?

This is a great forum, I have learned so much, but I'm going blind reading off the monitor.
Thank You everyone.

Steely Dan
I bought my Dayton high temp fan off ebay. I did find this site that has them:

http://auberins.com/
If you do build your own and go digital use this guy rather than Ebay.
The Ebay instuctions have sentances that don't even make since and if you call Auberins you actually talk to somebody that knows them inside and out and speaks excellant English.
