I made mine with galvanized sheet, so it looks about the same as always. I'm not sure what you could do with it, considering the heat it is subjected too.

Since we both used galvanized steel, I'm curious as to what is causing it to look bad? Is it heat discoloration, rusting? Any pictures.

I wonder also why it looks bad.

My first thought would be you could coat it with high temp powder perhaps. What is your normal bake temps??

I had the same problem...

Mine is 8x3x4 and was made from galvanized sheet metal, but when I bought it I had to drive 8 hours home and it POURED rain almost the whole way with the oven in the bed of my truck. So when I got it I dried it the best I could with towels and blew it out and then let it sit outside in the summer heat to dry itself for a couple days and then it had some serious surface rust problems.

I bought Rustoleum high temp paint they make for Barbecue grills and stuff. I rolled it on the inside and outside and it's only been 3 or 4 months but it is holding up great. I figure if they make it for grills and will hold up to hours of direct flame, it should hold up in a 400* oven just fine.

Been awhile since I posted, But to answer your question, I used the Hi Temp Engine paint. I put it on about 10 months ago and it's held up real well. I've had my oven up to 600 deg and it don't seem to bother it, But then it is supposed to be good to 1200 deg. The brand I used was Dupli-color available at most Auto Parts Stores. I used Silver, of course.

My oven is 6x3x3, so get about 3 or 4 cans to do the job. Wear a mask, cause it gets thick inside while your spraying.
