Default High Temp wire

Hi all,

I am in the final stage of completing my small oven build and I am at the point of connecting the single element up. My question is that the element is sitting in the middle bottom of the oven, are the wires able to handle being exposed to the temps inside the oven? The wire I bought from a local appliance repair shop (told it was oven wire at $3.84/ft) and it has a fiberglass braid and silicone over the wire. Is this stuff going to melt off or burn the first time I use the oven? Thanks all.

Brian

Default Re: High Temp wire

bhooge,

Sounds like high temperature wire. It will be OK. After you get it outside the oven area you can use regular wire to complete your circuit.
