Ok Iam building my 2nd oven now and it's time for the temp controller.I don't know if i want to use the PID controller because of the programing and seting them up.I have honeywell UDC3000 controller that was used on a paint booth, and powered it up and could not work it,way to much **** to deal with.I just want a controller that stays on the whole time intell the temp is reached. On my 1st oven i just used a robertshaw 2pole termocouple temp controller and it works fine.I would like to stay with using mech. contactors insted of ssr because contactors are cheaper.Any idea's would be great. THANKS

I think you're making the PID appear more complicated than it really is. If you read thru this forum you should find answers to most all your questions and if not, post a specific question and it will be answered.
I'm not sure I understand the part about using contactors and PID's. Most all pids can control either a contactor or ssr. Prices I've seen for ssr's and contactors are approximately the same. |
