Default Wiring questions part 2

Ok, so I have my PID and SSR. I`m using a TET-612 PID and a Fotek 60 amp SSR. I`ve searched the forum but have yet come up with a clear understanding of how to wire this stuff. All the wiring diagrams that I`ve found so far show a contactor instead of a SSR. Can someone please tell/show me how to wire this up in plain english, lol.

I understand that #1 & #2 are input power to the PID

#9 & #10 are the thermocouple.

#6 & #7 are the SSR output and this is what I don`t understand fully. Does the SSR only control one leg of the 220 circuit ? Does the other leg connect directly to the heating elements ?

If I`m understanding correctly, u hook both legs up to #1 & #2, jump off #2 to one side of heating element. The SSR output connects to the other side of heating element ? If thats correct, whats the 4th hookup on the SSR for ?

TIA from the throughly confused.

The SSR outputs on the controller are DC voltage so both get connected to the input side of the SSR. Most SSR's will only switch one leg of a 240vac element. That is why I use a master disconnect before opening or working on anything within the oven. The second leg of the 240vac circuit does connect directly to the element.

If you want to run your controller on 240vac then #1 & #2 get 'hot' feeds. Most of these controllers can also operate on 120vac. You can jumper off one side of the controller to the element, but that's not necessary as you can wire it direct. 4th hookup?(The 2 SSR inputs connect to the controller 6 & 7, the other 2 are relay contact points, 1 coming from the source and the 2nd going to one side of the element(s)).

Here is my oven diagram, this might help:

Thank you Ed. Thats exactly what I needed to see. Is your oven controller only wired 120 ?

Yes, the controller is wired for 120vac. The elements operate on 240vac.

OK, its all wired and working except for one thing, lol. I don`t think the thermocouple I recieved is a K type. The PV seems to count backwards from ambient temp. Do I have the wrong thermocouple or do I have a setting wrong

With my controller there is a parameter setting for the different types of thermostats. Can you check with the seller to verify? I'm not sure you can tell by looking at them.

Also check that the thermocoupler is wired correctly(+ and -). They are polarity sensitive.
