You have to look really close on the elements toward the wire end. It is stamped real small. As for the vent, you can put it about anywhere you want, but close to the top. It only needs to be a small pipe, say 5/8 or 3/4. Just so it can vent.

Good to see your coming along with it.

President! no, but thanks for the thought. Just doing what was done for me when I built my first oven. Couldn't have done it without the guys here.

I stuck a 3/4 copper pipe in the top left side.

It takes about 15mins to get to 400F

I will check the elements sometime....if they are like 1000watts I might get some 2000 watters or somthing.........

NOW TIME TO GET SOME POWDERCOATING DONE!!! hopefully it warms up, no fun working in a unheated shop at 0-32F

looking at the photo you have ehre of the finished product.
Looks pretty good .

but have to ask where you found the plans for this whole thing.

I also would like to build a oven for P.C. and have no clue as to where to find plans etc...

Thanks for any help you have on this.

I really didn't look at plans.....I just read and read on here and used that plus my skill and injeunity in fabricating/nigger rigging

If you are going to build one about the size of mine, I recommend NOT using a refrigerator as the shell, just start from scratch on the frame and build it like gatorhydes frame is. Also, if your oven isnt going to be bigger than mine I would recommend using the parts out of a kitchen oven, its a whole lot less confusing, I still don't understand these fancy wiring diagrams and PID's and all the other stuff.

You can get alot of the stuff at your local Home Depot/ Lowes. Look on craigslist for a used NEWER kitchen oven for $50 or less.

I am actually using this oven the first time right now, its degassing a atv subframe right now, when its done I'll powder coat it candy metallic red!!! pics of the finished product will be up soon

Hey pcer,
Got a question for you on your oven. I was looking at your pic of your inside and see where you mounted your fan inside. How did you go about that. I mounted mine on the out side.

I'll see if I can get pics today. Git a bunch of parts to coat today and tomorrow. Maybe a drawing if I can locate it.

slowdrive, are you using that blower for an oven? do you know what the rated intake temp is? just something to consider, especially if you're planning to mount it on top of the oven where it will see even more heat. we used a hi-temp version of that kind and mounted it on the back. i think the type jtw37 is using is actually meant for use in forced convection ovens so it should take the heat fine regardless of mounting location.
