I fired up my controller for the 1st time, heres the display I got.On the the top PV read out I got EEE.E on the bottom SV readout I got 80.00.
When I pushed the set button I got PASS on the top PV read out and 000.0 on the bottom SV read out, with the 1st 0 flashing.I can change the numbers up and down but my oven will not fire up,any ideas? Thanks. Peter |

A little more information would be helpful.
What controller are you using and where did you purchase it? Are you able to set any of the PID parameters or temperature and alarm set points? Have you attempted to allow the auto tune function of work? |

The controller model # is TET612 I purchaced it from E-bay,the site where alot of members here buy(I forget the name of it)I can put in numbers in the SV screen but the PV screen still has the EEEE'SI have taken controller out of the box.brought it inside, hook up voltage and a new thermocoupling and still had the same results, EEEEE,what gets me is the PASS I get when I touch the set button.

The EEEE is an out of range error. It could be the TC or the values set in memory. Check to make sure your TC is connected correctly. It has a + and - and must match the PID terminals. I think on mine, the red is positive. If that doesn't clear the error, test your TC with a meter that reads millivolts.
The next step would be to go through all the memory locations and check the values. One of the units I got was set up for RTD input so that caused an error on start up. Can't help you with the "PASS". I know I've read that somewhere but can't find it now. |

The EEE.E is an out of range indication on the process value, is the TC polarity correct? On my PID the only time that the set button is used is to change the operating parameters of the PID. Out of the box, I only needed to use the up button to raise the set value, and the down button to decrease the set value. Actually it takes two pushes of the up or down button to make the desired set temp change. Do you have the PID instructions? If not ,they are here;http://perfectplanes.com/TET612_Inst...nal_manual.htm I'm sure Ed will be able to help you,I"m thinking he has the same PID. Fred
JEEZ... I'm going to have to learn to type faster... Last edited by PhredAre; 01-26-2008 at 10:46 PM. |
