Default Metal Grids Over Elements

Hi guys I've got a 6hx3wx3w oven with three 3000 watt elements in the bottom and a fan 6 inches from the bottom. When I bake a frame it is about 1 foot away from the elements. I would like to install some type of heat diffusing grill to minimize yellowing of clears which sometimes happens. What are you guys using and recommending as a grid and do you have any pictures to share.Would some type of convection system using the fan be better?
Thanks,Powdersparky.

Question Re: Metal Grids Over Elements

Hey Baz,
When I mounted my elements, I mounted them right on the inside walls. When I get the oven going and I have a part that hangs down into the element area, I'm thinking that the heat from the elements is more severe. So I'm wondering and sort of planning on placing a shield/cover over the elements just to eliminate the possibility of over curring that end of the item (say a bike frame).

I do have a circulation fan that draws from the top and blows down a chute that is about 8 inches from the floor. So is my thinking right or is it off base? It would seem that it would do as I'm thinking and also would eliminate any cooling down of the elements.

What do you think?

Ive been thinking about this as well.
Maybe some sort of heat shield with a fan to difuse the heat better?

Ive got an element on the side and one on the floor, frames make me cringe wen I do them, its so tight.

A solid shield works really well. I had to put one in when my elements were heating the parts too much directly with IR.
