We were going to go that route but we didn't have the welder available to us and the closest place ti us to get the square tubing was almost 45 minutes away.....so this was a cheap and easy alternative......something anyone can put together without alot of tools.

Our control box was simply the same sheet metal the oven was made from, the definite purpose contactor and an old oven thermostat....very simple yet very effective. Our goal was to build a simple relatively inexpensive oven that would last a very long time. We put our elements in metal outlet receptacles so they would be easy to change and also made sure we used nothing exotic so everything could be purchased cheaply and from the local appliance parts store. We thought about the digital control box but this works just as well and the total cost was around $60.

Where did you get your contactor and how big is it and also what voltage is the coil. Also your timer what kind is it.

Thanks

The coil is a two pole, 120v, 55amp definate purpose contactor purchased at the same appliance parts supplier as the elements. The one we used costed between 50 and 60 dollars. The appliance supplier will ask for the model number for your appliance but just tell them to give you cheap two pole coil to step up your voltage to 240. The timer is just a cheap digital kitchen timer that uses a AA battery available just about everywhere.

Here is the contacter I used in my oven when I built it. It sounds similar to one corecase used.

Ours was a little fancier only because that's all they had...but that one would work great!....
