Default New Oven

We just finished our new oven. It heats up in 15 minutes. we have a convection oven fan to install this week. We chose to not put a bottom on it so we can wheel an engine stand in and out. The dimensions are 4x4x6. Thanks for all of the help on this forum.

Nice work. How much wattage are you using?

Nice Job!
I would suggest you lay thin insualtion and a sheet of tin over the concrete though. There's lots of water in concrete and heating it to temeratures of around 400 is going to produce steam in your oven. Not only that but it could start popping and ruin an otherwise perfect piece. Just a thought.

The oven uses 4 3000 watt elements.

Thanks for the advice on the floor insulation. The concrete has been in place for about 30 years, do you think there is still adequate moisture within it to create steam? There has not been a problem so far but I will keep an eye on it. Thanks.

The heating elements came from a local appliance supply store...Fox Appliance to be exact. The door seal was almost impossible to find by the foot so we just went to lowes and found it in 6 foot sections with the adhesive for around $8 a box. Hope this helps.

We just built our roll around rack today...we used 3/4 in threaded pipe found at Lowes. We put it together with 3/4 in elbows and T fittings....then we put steel casters on it . Total cost was around $80.00. we couldn't find anything close to what we needed for under $200.

McMaster Carr sells various different door seals by the foot.

More oven pics...our total cost was slightly under $1000...we ran into a slight problem with the contactor. It was 55 amps so we had to run larger wire from the breaker box and install a 60 amp breaker....everything work perfectly now.
