This is what it looks like after the upright studs were installed and the cross studs were installed. You can see in the pics I have the studs screwed in at the ends. I left room because after the oven is all framed in I am going to go back and drill holes and rivet next to them. After there is 2 fasteners holding each stud the unit will be much more rigid.

Thanks Fox, I'll keep posting pics as I go. Tonight I'll be putting together the top and then framing out the door. Will have pics as soon as I'm done.

Thumbs up Re: WeTDrEaM Oven Build. Step by Step

Looks REALLY good! Nice work. Where did you end up purchasing your 4" Roxul insulation? That is my next purchase and I'd like to avoid having to buy thinner stuff locally and layering to fill the walls.

Thanks!

Pruett

Here is a pic of the unfinished top installed. I made the framing all the way around and installed the 3 stud flat as you can see. These studs are what the "track" is going to bolt to. I am going to put 1/2" thick X 2" wide flat steel inside these to support weight. The flat steel with be riveted to the studs from the inside. After the sheet metal "skin" is installed I will drill and tap the flat steel so the track can be bolted to it securely. Cross studs will also be installed after the flat steel. I had to leave them out until this is done so I don't cover the "track" studs.

Here are a few pics of the unfinished door also. Ran out of self tappers!! The lower center square will be where the window is going. I will also be framing below that just like the very top. I decided to add a little more support to it since it is so big. I will also be adding steel stock to the sides where the hinge and latches will attach just like the track. Drilled and tapped so it can be bolted together without worry of the bolts pulling out of the thin studs and sheet metal.
