Any benefit to using a PID with 'ramp/soak/kiln' (ie Aubers 2352P) or should I stay without (ie Auber 2352)? It appears that a signal/alarm can be featured with either one xalling me back to the unit....
This will be controlling either a 40A or 75A SSR. Thanx |

Ramp/soak would probably be more useful if you are doing a lot of large heavy parts that take time to come up to temperature or if you are doing a lot of production/repetitive type coatings. I think it would be less useful for a job shop.
I don't depend on the oven pid temperature readings. Instead I use an ir thermometer to read the temperatures of the parts and start the cure cycle from that point. Most of the alarm features are only low and high temperature alarms. I changed my oven controls to include a countdown timer that shuts off the elements at the end of the cycle and sounds an alarm. |
