That really depends on how thick your walls are. I used metal studs in my oven and my supplier could only get 2" also so I doubled mine. If your walls are 2" then just use 2". You don't really want to compress insulation too much.

I did my oven in 2 inch. But kind of wish I would have done it in 4 inch. But the 2" was available and I had 2x2 square tubing, so that set my size. But even if you do 2", it works okay, I just think (now) that 4 is better. I have some heat loss on the outside as you can feel the heat on the outer skin. Two inch thick is certainly cheaper then 4". So pocket book may also dictate.

well I need 16 panels to do my oven. They come 12 to a bundle so I need 2 bundles anyway. If I get 3 bundles I will be able to do 4". and at $24 per, 3 rather then 2 will not break the bank.
