Question How do figure how many watts with 240 three phase

I am confused about how to figure how many watts I can get from a 80 amp 240 volt three phase power source. I know it is volts X amps = watts. But I see some thing about multiplying by 1.73 for three phase.
Can anyone help me? trying to how big of a oven I can build.

Thanks
Tony

Maybe this will help? And yes the square root of 3 = 1.73205081

Wattage = voltage x amperage x (Sq root of the phase)

Voltage = wattage / [amperage x (Sq root of the phase)

Amperage = wattage / [voltage x (Sq root of the phase)

or 240 x 80 x 1.73205081 = 33255

Thank You Grumpy

So by the BTU calculator I will be able to build a 8' W x 16' L x 6 H oven that would keep 430 degrees

It looks like it if you have tight insulation but I have never built one that big (or yet) for that matter but thats what the math says and the calculator seems to verify it. I would wait till someone with more experience can chime in before you start building though...Just trying to help with the tools I have.

Wouldn't building an oven that large, heated by electric be a long time heating up and costly? I think most ovens that size are heated with gas heat or by propane. Search for propane, you should find something on it in this forum.

I would like to use gas but have not seen how this it done that way I was going to use electric. I will look some more.

Anyone have a write up on or pictures of how they built a gas fired oven?

I though gas was a No-No because of the open flame and fire/explosion hazard with the PC powders?
