This is what was supplied via email with the pid. I followed that eaxctly. With the exception of two elements

Let me know what ya think

also can you point me in the direction of a 5 or 6 foot thermocouple. I extended mine and I think that ithas thrown off its usage

Here is a link for the type K thermocouple:
Temp Sensors, Thermocouple : auberins.com, Temperature control solutions for home and industry

If you extend it with the correct thermocouple "lead wire" it would work fine. Best if welded as opposed to solder-less connector/wire nuts etc...

The schematic looks to be drawn for 120 volts. It would be basically the same if you supplied 240 however.

I would do the steps I recommended previously when you get a new ssr. If the pid energizes the ssr/elements when the sv is less than the pv, then something is wrong.

I will def check the pid

I just assumed that both legs at the top of the diagram were 110 each. I ran a the ground to the control box and oven.

    Ed and grumble thanks guys.

Ron thanks for the offer on the blasting gun, but it needs to many cfm's for my compressor. If you want to run down and look at how mine is wired up let me know.

The pid controls the ssr on/off cycle. If you get another ssr and the same result occurs, shut it down immediately and trouble shoot the problem.

I would first test the pid without the ssr connected. Set the sv to be less than the pv and do a voltage check(DC) on the two pid output terminals that control the ssr. There shouldn't be any voltage on the mm. Then move the sv to be greater than the pv and check the voltage again. You should see a DC voltage of around 8 volts. If this is correct then the pid is working ok.
Finally got the new ssr. Stabbed it in there tonight with some thermo paste. Works like a charm.

do you know how long the Autotune function takes?

Autotune can run up to 30 minutes or so. It will ramp up to your set temperature, then cool down a little and heat up again to the set temp. It will go over the target somewhat so don't be alarmed if it does.

Yes, I built a version of my own. I don't connect it to the pid, it's a separate unit. It's detailed in this link:
