Drilled out pits, Zincated, Flash Copper for 10 minutes, Soldered with tix solder (solder caswell should carry), sanded down to aluminum w/180, fairly smooth at this point. Re-zincated, flash copper, acid copper for an hour and a half. Sanded smooth w/320. Flash copper, sanded again to 1200 grit, buffed; then Nickel. Couldn't sand too much as the letters would disappear, so I used mask-it on the letters. Sanded the surrounding area so mask it remained in the letters, then the plate would build on everything BUT the letters. Worked really well until one of the electroclean processes knocked the mask-it off most of the letters. A different cleaning process would have worked much better - me not thinking there.
