It's not just regular electroless nickel, it's a special Pot Metal electroless nickel.

Yes, nickel can be buffed to a high shine, but the Pot Metal E-Nickel can't. It's not designed as a finish plate.

You bought the Copy Chrome kit because you wanted a chrome-like finish without the hassle of real chrome. You can plate a part with Zinc and buff it to a high shine also, but it's not chrome and won't look like chrome. The copy chrome kit will.

Not to worry - no offense taken.

The tank needs to be able to be heated to high temperatures and needs to be non-conductive. Glass and ceramics usually work best.
