Default Quadrajet color?

I just started to set up the copy cad kit I bought,I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.Could anyone tell me what the right color is for a 1970 Quadrajet, yellow, olive drab? the carb body is in good shape so can I soda blast then dip in muratic acid and go straight to chromate or do I need to plate first. What would you recomend for the acid mix? Thanks , Bob.

I am new to this and if you ever get an answer I really need to know also . I am restoring a 1971 Buick GSX Stage 1 and hope to have all the little parts like on the carb and elsewhere plated to look correct . Paint just does not cut it . thanks , Mike

Stra, i just did my Q-jet body a couple days ago, i glass beaded and 1 blowed out all the passages and dipping my body in ruffly a 8% mauratic acid and distilled water for about 10 min. immediately after i took it out and redipped it in plain distilled water bath. after drying it the best i could quickly i then hung it from a 1/2 copper water line over the tank and submerged it into my copy cad tank connected my probes red to anodes and black to copper pipe copper wire . set my amps to 2.5 to 2.7 and my volts where around .8. soaked it for 25 min. and took it out and dipped it into my distilled water bath and then i went to my yellow cad bucket and dipped it in for id say 3 min. rotating by hand. When i took it out into the sun to dry i thought, oh it didn,t work but after about 15 min. the carb. looked factory again. I was told to redip it into the 8% acid tank again but i chanced it. I love the look. Step by step thats what i did!!

ss-truck, not to sound like a Mr. know it all, but Eastwoods is not a paint but a dye, ive used it alot with great results. If properly prepared it looks just like the factory color.
