Default What Stripper to use in tank?

If I was to buid a part stripping tank, what would I fill it with? Now there are a few chemicals that dissolve and not strip like Eastwoods Powder Coat & Paint Dissolver. IT can be reused multiple times. Not if you are to fill a 50 - 100 gallon tank, you would have to sell a kidney. What is a cheaper route? What dissolver will eat paint and powder to dip parts in that can be reused for some time without replenishing? is there such a thing? What do the large ships use? If there is a "Greener" solution that also is able to go down the drain this is a plus as home operations don't have chemical disposal available.

It ain't so greeen necessasrily, but B17 is the stuff of choice to strip paint/powder quickly and for a fair price.... you can keep your kidneys.

I will take a look at that and maybe try it. I was hoping for something that can be re-used many, many times in a heated tank. I came across this website for 8614

How to: Remove Powder Coating-What's New?.

Sounds like a good route and am requesting more info on pricing. Not sure the life of the chemical though. I was hoping that someone would chime in and tell me there home solution of chemicals you can get in bulk and make a stripper or something. I read that a guy used lye for cleaning but Lye will eat metal and is caustic soda. I don't think he used it for stripping but I was wondering if someone had another solution for stripping? If you made a tank to dip Motorcycle frames, you would need 50-75 gallon tank. That would cost a ton if the chemical was $12-$15 a gallon.

Although it sounds like a lot, 55 gallons of B-17 will return you way more time than any other solution. Active ingredient is Methylene Chloride. It's a "meth" that's legal for now.... Most really good quality strippers will have some of this in them.

I have to agree with my buddy Scott. B-17 has to be the best stuff to use to strip anything! If you put a painted item in it, no kidding about 45sec the paint is falling off of the part.. Powdercoat just lifts right off in a couple of mins.. I was reluctant to buy this myself cause of the price but I actually found a place not to far from me I was able to pick it up at so I only got a 5 gallon jug to try it out and didnt have to pay shipping so it woked out for me... I can tell you I will buy more when I need to. I wont mess around with all the other junk anymore, this stuff truly is a time saver to say the least.......... Hope this helps out..
