    Default New to the site

    Hi everyone,

I am new and just decided to build my own powder coating oven, I am in need of some help in what to make it out of, I have seen some of your guys and they look awesome. I am thinking of building one 3' wide 4' deep and 6' high. Any help would be greatly appriciated. I am in the process of buying a gun also, what product would some of you recommend.

    Thanks guys

Welcome to the site.. If you look for the hyper smooth gun its so super cheap right now do to the two companies fighting with each other so they both keep trying to out do one another, about 4months ago the gun was about 1000 and now its down to 409 free shipping on ebay.. Its a good setup alot of people have one now since they are affordable so there is alot of help out there if you do get one and have problem..... Or you can look into cheaper gun for starting out.....
I dont know what you mean about the oven question, i made mine out of metal studs, minerial wool insulation and sheet metal for the inside. Pretty basic just make a big metal box. The hard part is wiring eveything up with the control panel that you're gonna have to make or buy...... I made mine and the pid and temp sensors or all on this site under the Oven building forum.. If you're new to this check out the other forum for powdercoating advise cause this one seems to be dead lately.... check out Powderbuythepound.com,, eastwood.com, columbiacoatings.com, most have very good advise for when you in a sticky spot and need some guidence.. Like i said welcome, and checkout the other sites.... The oven building forum is only on here from what i know of.. just seems like the powdercoating section is dead lately on here........hope this helps ya out......

welcome to the addiction! i second the hypersmooth. i haven't used one, but if i was in the market for a gun, i'd give one a go. our oven is the same... metal studs, mineral wool, 22ga steel skins.
